The proposal is one of the photo sessions I love the most. Maybe because I’m a hopeless romantic or simply because I love surprises, but whenever he gets down on one knee and pulls out that little precious box, my heart starts racing.
Every proposal shoot I’ve photographed has been a continuous discovery. The reactions are truly the most varied, and staying objective in those moments is not easy. Some women jump with joy, others scream in excitement, and others are left speechless and breathless. And just like every wedding is unique, so are marriage proposals.
Proposals are such a special moment that they deserve to be remembered.
There are two types:
– completely surprise proposals;
– photo shoot–disguised proposals.
And I can assure you that both are extremely exciting!
The first ones are slightly more complex to organize, while the second are easier to arrange. In the first case, I try to blend into the crowd or hide behind a bush until the big moment; in the second case, everything is more straightforward, and the proposal can be planned in advance—choosing exactly how and where the declaration will happen.
Either way, organizing a proposal shoot is truly exciting for me.
In both cases, I can assure you that the future bride’s reaction is wonderful, because in that moment she is beginning to realize her dream—and she knows she’ll be able to relive it anytime through her proposal photos.
